EVANSVILLE AGO ORGAN CRAWL SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 Hear, explore and play two large new instruments and one historic instrument,
and enjoy a delicious German meal, on our organ crawl next Saturday.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21 3:00-4:30 P.M. John Schwandt, winner of the 1998 AGO National Competition, will lead this introductory workshop on improvisation for organists. This workshop is sponsored by our guild and is connected with the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the installation of the Fisk Organ at First Presbyterian Church Evansville, and will be held at First Presbyterian. Members of our guild will present resources and demonstrations of accessable organ music for use during special seasons of the liturgical year. The program will begin at 7:30 P.M., preceeded by diner at 6:00 P.M., at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Eastside. ORGAN CONCERT
TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 11 Douglas O’Neill, Visiting Professor and University Organist at the University of Evansville, will present a recital on Tuesday, September 11 at 7:30 in Wheeler Concert Hall at the University of Evansville. Doug is a alumnus of U.E. and served as organist at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. He holds an M.A. from the University of Iowa and is currently completing the DMA in Church Music at the University of Kansas. He is a two-time winner of the Greater Kansas City AGO Young Artists Competition, and in 1999 he was awarded First Prize at the Dublin International Organ Competition in Dublin, Ireland. However, his first award as an organist was from our own Evansville AGO chapter as a high school student. His program will consist of works by Mendelssohn, Bach, Weckmann, Rogg, Swayne, Locklair, and Dupré. CHOIR OF GONVILLE AND CAIUS COLLEGE
The world renowned Choir of Gonville and Caius (pronounced "Keys"), directed by Geoffrey Webber, will present a varied program of sacred and secular choral music at First Presbyterian Church of Evansville at 7:00 P.M. This program is part of the First Presbyterian Church Sacred Arts Series. |
HARPSICHORD CONCERT
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 30 Helen Reed will give a concert of harpsichord music by J. J. Froberger, J. S. Bach, and others on Sunday afternoon, September 30 at 3:00 PM. Location: sanctuary, Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 5501 Washington, Evansville. The concert is part of an all-day event at the church on the theme, "Evangelism and the Arts."
