January 29, 2005, 10:00 am: Composition Workshop January 30, 2005, 4:00 pm: Concert GUEST ORGANIST/PIANIST/COMPOSER DR. LEONARD DANEK Location: Methodist Temple, Evansville Dr. Danek is an associate professor at Northwestern College in Roseville,
MN, where he teaches music theory, composition and organ. He is well known
as an organist and composer. Dr. Danek and his compositions have been featured
several times on Minnesota Public Radio’s "Pipe Dreams." He has served
as organist of First Lutheran Church of St. Louis Park, MN since 1984.
His Saturday morning workshop will focus on composing arrangements of hymn
tunes for organ and piano. His Sunday afternoon concert here will
feature works by Bach, Guilmant and Liszt as well as several of his own

March 5, 2005, (Saturday) FORGOTTEN TREASURE: THE COLISEUM ORGAN Location: Evansville Central Public Library, Browning Room Refreshments at 10:00 AM Presentation at 10:30 AM Evansville is home to a rare treasure of a musical instrument:
the 1919 Moller pipe organ located in the historic Memorial Coliseum in
downtown Evansville. Originally purchased as a municipal organ for
the community, this large organ has six divisions over four manual keyboards
and pedals. World-famous organist have played this instrument.
Unfortumately the instrument is practically unplayable at present due to
years of neglect. Dr. Douglas Reed will present a program about the
Tinker Memorial Organ and its significance to the Evansville community
in the past, the present...and the future. For more information
