January 13, 2008: "Organ Marathon" from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30
p.m. at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Evansville. This is a
fund raiser for our chapter's Dufford Scholarship Fund, sponsored by the
Evansville AGO and by the Christianity and the Arts Committee of Eastminster
Presbyterian. Donations will be accepted. It will also be a celebration
of the 40th anniversary of the installation of the Casavant organ at Eastminster.

The Evansville Chapter of the American Guild
of Organists presents a Potluck Choral Reading
Session at Trinity United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 26th
from 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 noon.
Local Guild members will bring copies of their choir’s favorite choral
anthems to sing through
and share with the other directors and assembled guests.
Anyone interested in choral music should plan to attend: Singers, students,
choir directors, and
organists interested in learning new repertoire, or having a fun morning
of singing new music
will enjoy this unusual musical feast. Singing has been shown to improve
health and mental
well-being, and this promises to be a stimulating morning! Join us
in our beautiful location in the
choir room of historic Trinity United Methodist Church downtown.

Organ, UE, WCH, 4:00 p.m.

October 14, 2007 at 3:30 pm: Travis Evans will perform organ music
by Bach, Boellman, Vaughan Williams, Karg-Elert, Widor, Durufle', etc.,
at Holy Name Catholic Church in Henderson, KY. Evans is Director
of Music at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in O'Fallon, Missouri, a suburb
of St. Louis, and has studied with Charles W. Ore, Theodore Beck and John
Romeri.

October 21, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. University of Evansville organ and
harpsichord students will perform a concert at First Christian Church,
Vincennes IN. The concert will celebrate the life and music of the
great north German composer, Dieterich Buxtehude who died 300 years ago.
Performance will be on the Taylor & Boody organ, Opus 4, built for
First Christian Church in 1981.
