"Global Christian Song"
A Presentation by Dr. Douglas Reed
Monday, September 14, 2009
In 2007, the University of Evansville awarded Dr. Reed a Global Scholar Grant for the 2007-2008 academic year. The subject of his research was "Global Christian Song."  The grant supported purchase of printed materials and travel to Korea, the Iona Community in Scotland, and several East European countries including Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece.  This presentation will exploree music which according to Dr. Reed "broadens our perspectives and puts us in touch with other Christians around the world...(and) shines a new and different light on the 'worship wars' between 'traditional' and 'contemporary' approaches in America."

For our September program, our Evansville A.G.O. chapter will
gather for a meal beforehand in the new student union on the University of Evansville campus at 6:00 p.m. (each person will order and pay for their own meal), and then attend Dr. Reed's presentation  at 7:00pm to enjoy and learn from recordings, pictures, and group singing.  The program will be in Neu Chapel on the University of Evansville campus.  Contact Douglas Reed if you have any questions at dr5@evansville.edu.
